Langley Methodist Church was established in 1826 and is a member of the Macclesfield circuit of Methodist churches. The other churches being Bollington, Broken Cross, Gawsworth, Higher Hurdsfield, Macclesfield, Over Alderley, Prestbury and Walker Barn. Macclesfield Methodist circuit is within the Manchester and Stockport district of Methodism, which stretches from Oldham in the north to Macclesfield and Knutsford in the south.
Our current church building dates from 1858 and we therefore celebrate our 150th anniversary in 2008.
We bid you a warm welcome to any of our services at 10:30am and 6:30pm on Sundays. The church has extensive facilities including a Creche and Sunday school for younger members, together with facilities for disabled access and enhanced sound systems for the hard of hearing. Pictures of the church are found in the Photo Album. Please also sign our Guestbook - thank you !
In line with the best traditions of Methodism, we have a superb choir who meet for practice once a week.
We have good relations with other churches in the Macclesfield area, and on occasions share services with Sutton St James Anglican Church and St Edwards Roman Catholic Church. Our church is also a member of the Churches together in Macclesfield group.
We have published a book called " A history of Methodism in Langley " by Thelma Whiston. This is a fascinating history of the church and the
village spanning three centuries. Further details are available from David Bullock on 01260 252742 or Alan Chapman on 01260 252745.

Langley is a picturesque village, located about 3 miles from Macclesfield and close to the Macclesfield Forest. You will find some pictures of the Forest and the Macclesfield area in this album.
Macclesfield itself is a busy town (population c. 50,000), part of the county of Cheshire and located in the North West of England. Macclesfield lies on the River Bollin and is about 15 miles south of Manchester and 200 miles north of London. It is also close to the scenic Peak District.
The town has good access to the motorway network (M6, M56 and M60). From the 18th century onwards, the town became synonymous with the silk industry and working mills still exist. Also Hovis bread (from the Latin "HOminiS VItae" - the strength of man) has its origin here.
